About the Artisan

I'm a glassblower and designer inspired by nature, movement, and light. Every piece I create is shaped by hand using traditional techniques and an appreciation for the unpredictable beauty of molten glass.

My work ranges from functional drinkware to one-of-a-kind art pieces. I love collaborating on custom projects—let's bring your idea to life.

The Process

Ember Glass Studio at work

Each piece begins as a gathering of molten glass heated to over 2,000°F. Using time-honored techniques, I shape, blow, and refine every detail by hand—no two pieces are ever exactly alike.

The color comes first: crushed glass frit and metal oxides are layered onto the gather, then melted in so the hues fuse and swirl. Cobalt gives the deep ocean blues, copper the greens, and a touch of silver nitrate the smoky ambers.

After shaping, every piece spends a full night in the annealer, cooling slowly from 900°F to room temperature so the glass releases its internal stress. It's the least glamorous step and the most important one—it's what lets a piece last for generations.
