About the Artisan
I make functional stoneware from a small studio in Southeast Portland—mugs, bowls, and dinnerware meant to be used hard and loved daily. Most pieces are thrown on the wheel from Oregon clay and finished in quiet, natural glazes.
My favorite work happens in collaboration: a dinnerware set for a restaurant, a lamp base for an odd corner, a mug that fits your hands exactly.

The Process
Every piece starts as a ball of wedged stoneware on the wheel. I throw in small batches, trim the next day, and bisque fire before any glaze touches the clay.
Learn More About My Process
Glazes are mixed in-house from raw materials—ash, iron, and feldspar—and fired to cone 6 in an electric kiln. Small variations between pieces are the point, not a flaw.
